“Passport to Success”

6/24/2009

As the Spokesperson for the Volunteer Center I went and spoke at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex to a wonderful group of individuals!   News Channel 2 and the VC of Greensboro put together an event geared at helping individuals to prepare for a new job in case they had lost their job or were looking at finding one!  I helped to give people the confidence they needed to market themselves!  I worked on their handshake and eye contact as well as a “put together” appearance!  I also stressed the importance of using the extra time when out of a job to find volunteer opportunities.  That is a good way to help find work opportunities as well as spending your time making a difference!  They had all kinds of different specialists there to help with resumes, interview, appearance, and open opportunities.  It was great to see the response they had with the number of people who came to learn from the specialists they had there!!!  I always enjoy working with the staff of the Volunteer Center as well helping others, so it was a great day at the Greensboro Coliseum complex!
